Through her activism and dedication to championing female equality in economics and tech industries, Reshma Saujani is bolstering the success of women and girls everywhere.
Saujani’s political career began in 2010, when she became the first Indian American woman to run for Congress. Throughout her campaign, she recognized the severe gender gap within computer science education. To stimulate female involvement in tech fields, Saujani founded Girls Who Code, a leading non-profit that has provided 600,000 girls with computer science education.
But her advocacy and creative problem-solving didn’t end there. During Covid-19, Saujani addressed the pandemic’s impact on moms’ financial stability. By creating Moms First, she encouraged national dialogue and legislation aimed at supporting women as they navigated this difficult time. Saujani also utilized her technological prowess to launch PaidLeave.ai, and worked with Congressional leaders to enact New York City’s Marshall Plan for Moms – all to support moms’ careers and financial security.
Among her many accolades, Saujani received recognition for being one of Fortune World’s Greatest Leaders, an InStyle Woman of Impact, and one of Forbes’s Most Powerful Women Changing the World. Girls Who Code was awarded Most Innovative Non-Profit by Fast Company. She continues to serve on the Board of Directors of Girl Who Code, and is co-chair of the Global Futures Council on the Future of Care Economy.
